Starboard has recently launch their range of surfboards (Starboard Surf) and these are not your usual run of the mill, everyday kinda boards! Made from carbon fibre, these boards have incredible strength which is beyond anything we have ever seen and the weight is insane - short-boards start at 2kgs. The entire range can be found at their new website which is www.star-board-surf.com and The SUP Store has a few demo's available for people to try. These boards carry a high price tag but considering the strength of these boards which will outlast EPS boards by 4 or 5 times, they are worth considering. Contact for demo availability and prices.

Was great to be a part of the BaySUP (www.baysup.co.uk) races at the weekend which were held at the Watersports Academy on Poole. The format consisted of a tough upwind/downwind course ion the brisk easterly wind which made the conditions challenging. Ryan James took the win with a great performance amking a come back from 10th place. Nick got 6th in 12'6 and Frenchy 10th in 14ft. Great results for the The SUP Store.
The afternoon's racing was a team relay format which again challening conditions and some great battles - as you can see from this pic which is Nick (Starboard Coast Runner) and Tim Harley (Rogue Vandal 14')...

Not the Eastenders character but 10 x Molokai to Oahu paddleboard champion and waterman. Respected by the likes of Dave Kalama, Kelly Slater, Joel Parkinson and Rob Machado to name but a few, Jamie is one if the most amazing watermen of our time and we are super excitied to hear he is coming to the UK. Check him out online if you haven't heard of him and you'll see why we are so excitied -
Jamie will be at the Battle of the Thames on Saturday 18th May and then on Sunday 19th he’ll be running 2 clinics in Bournemouth with BaySUP and then a showing of his DVD ‘A Decade of Dominance’ in the evening. After a week away with the family it was nice to get back home, especially when greeted with glorious sunshine and smooth seas. Brownsea Island was looking irrisistable! Sweet sundowner session on the Richmond 16'6
Ooooooh The SUp Store loves a good easterly swell here in Bournemouth, not sure how on earth it happens but it does and that's fine with us! The weather forecast for Monday was snow and -5c but who cares, there waves!! I decided to have a longboard session on one of the finest longboard shapes in the world from the legendary Donald Takayama (9'3 In The Pink) and it was superb...
